What's new in IOS Rentals v1.6

IOS Rentals updated to version 1.6. The new version has Elxis 5 native support, new features such as custom booking form elements, new payment methods, copyright license policy change for companies control panel, interface improvements and a bug fix. Existing customers can download for free the new version from within IOS Reservations control panel (section Updates).

Custom booking form elements

In addition to the predefined booking form elements (customer name, email, phone, etc) you can add up to 8 custom booking form elements. Each of these elements can be text input fields, selection drop down boxes or Yes/No radio buttons. As with the predefined ones you can set which ones of these custom form elements to be required. Moreover you can now also set the ordering of the booking form elements.

Fixed time rental calculation

Added the option to calculate rental duration, and therefor rental charge, around on a fixed time, for example from 09:00 to 09:00, regardless the pickup/dropoff time. The Free of charge tolerance, if enabled, is applied on both pick-up (-X hours) and drop-off (+X hours) and if it is exceeded even for 1 minute the Extra hours charge is 1 day. This option can be enabled from the settings page in companies control panel.

New payment methods

New payment methods are available in IOS Rentals 1.6: PayUBiz (or PayU India) and Piraeus bank ePOS. Note that these payment methods require IOS Reservations 5.1 or newer and that by the time of writing this article the status of the ePOS payment gateway is test.

Switch to Elxis 5

IOS Rentals is now compatible only to Elxis 5.0 or newer. With the power of Elxis 5 IOS Rentals 1.6 has a better user interface and it is smaller in size! Some of the Elxis 5 UI things you will notice are the stick to the top action buttons (Save/Apply/Cancel/etc based on Elxis 5 toolbars), the even better forms, the page loaders, the native modal windows, the tabs, and much more.

Copyright license change

In version 1.6 there is a change regarding the display of Is Open Source copyright in companies control panel. Till version 1.5 companies control panel was provided white-labeled. IOS Rentals 1.6 is provided as a white labeled software for its public interface (APIs). This means that the API plugin visitors will not see any copyright note by I Open Source. In companies control panel there is a small copyright note at the bottom of the pages. You are not allowed to remove or hide this copyright note unless you buy a special Copyright Removal License by Is Open Source.
